Cube members event - P 18 - The video label Screen Edge are to be commended for making available some of the weirdest, most exciting and innovative films they can find, everything from underground American sleaze, through to experimental classics and no-budget British Horror. To celebrate The Cube are presenting two fine, barely seen works in an unique video-on-the-big-screen double bill.
| 'Cannibal : The Musical' Trey Parker / 1993 / US/ Trey Parker - A UK theatrical premiere for the debut feature of the legendary South Park co-creator Trey Parker. Canniabals shows this fledgling talent in full effect as he also starts and wrote the music. A cross-between Monty Python and Georges Romero, it depicts the struggles of real life explorer Alfred Packer (Trey Parker) leading a bunch of gold diggers into the Colorado Rockies. Inevitably, they get cold and hungry, and vegetarianism insn't an option. Includes songs.
PLUS : 'I Zombies : The Chronicles Of Pain' Andrew Parkinson / 1997 / UK - A rare British foray into ythe world of Body Horror, as a man infected by a hideous virus seeks out human flesh in order to survive, a bleak downward spiral begins. An impressive vision of a British urban landscape riven with alienation, violence and paranoia. Plenty of zombie action.
